Asked about the rumours linking Chelsea forward and Ivory Coast international Didier Drogba (30) with a move to Barcelona (read more here), new Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari said at a press conference yesterday that he sees no reason why the player wouldn't stay with the English Premier League club:"Didier's future with Chelsea is normal because he has a contract with us. I think he's very happy with Chelsea. Didier is now injured. The doctor and our medical staff made a plan to have him training and playing in maybe three or four weeks. At this moment it's impossible for Didier to come with us, but I hope when we come back he'll be in good condition."
Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Chelsea would be ready to let Drogba go for a transfer price around 25 million euro°. The Ivorian striker, who agreed a three-year contract with Barcelona, hopes that the clubs can reach an agreement as soon as possible.
