Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Barcelona will give the transfer of Valencia left winger and Spanish international David Silva (22) another try after the recent changes at the top of his club (read more here)Barcelona sports director Txiki Begirstain is expected to contact Valencia again in the coming days and make them a bid of 20 million euro°, which would be the maximum fee Barcelona is ready to pay.
Silva's agent would already have closed a deal with Begiristain on a four-year contract for the Spanish winger. The wish of the player, who prefers to stay in Spain and wants to join Barcelona, should put pressure on Valencia whose financial situation could force the club to sell some of their players.
New Valencia president Vicente Soriano said to journalists that he didn't plan to sell Silva: "If everything turns out the way I have planned, that won't be necessary. There will be some transfers, but the essential players will stay."
