Valencia regional sports paper Super Deporte claims that Barcelona sports director Txiki Begiristain could travel to Valencia this week to start negotiations on the transfer of Valencia left winger and Spanish international David Silva (22) and to put a first formal offer on the table.With the European championships and the whole process leading to the vote of no confidence having come to an end and with the transfer of Andrei Arshavin being excluded because of the transfer fee, Begiristain has reactivated the Silva option.
Begiristain now wants to hear first hand from Valencia about the transfer price of Silva after the recent changes at the club (read more here). It is expected that Valencia will only be willing to let the winger leave if a huge transfer fee is offered.
Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo claims that the market value of Silva, who has a buyout clause of 90 million euro°, is between 20 and 24 million euro°.
