Barcelona forward and Spanish youth international Bojan Krkic celebrates today his 18th birthday, which means he can now sign another contract that will link him longer with the club.His current contract expires next summer and it couldn't be renewed until today. All media agree that Bojan will sign in the coming days a new five-year contract including a significant salary rise and an 80 million euro° buyout clause (read more here).
Since Barcelona president Joan Laporta and some other officials like Barcelona sports director Txiki Begiristain are since yesterday in Monaco to assist the draw for the Champions League group stage this evening, the contract won't be signed today.
Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo, who claims that Bojan rejected several offers this summer, says that a date will be set once Laporta returns from Monaco tomorrow. Catalan sports paper Sport thinks the signature and the official announcement could well take place tomorrow.
