Asked about the rumours linking the player with a move to Barcelona (read more here), Fernando Redondo, the agent of Real Valladolid goalkeeper and Spanish youth international Sergio Asenjo (19), has said in an interview with Catalan sports paper Sport that the player is totally focused on his club at this moment:"Asenjo would of course like to go to Barcelona, because it's a top club that plays for the trophies, but at this moment he's aware that he still has to learn a lot and he only think about keep making progress with Real Valldolid."
The paper claims that Barcelona goalkeeping coach Juan Carlos Unzué went to watch the goalkeeper last week in his team's match against Athletic Bilbao. Asenjo, who has a contract with Real Valldolid until the summer of 2011, would have a buyout clause of 5,5 million euro°.
