Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Barcelona president Joan Laporta dreams of signing Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fàbregas (21) and Olympique Lyon forward Karim Benzema (20) next summer.Laporta, who will leave the presidency in 2010, would this way want to prepare the future and leave a legacy for years to come.
A serious economic investment would be needed for both transfers. Arsenal would ask 30 million euro° for Cesc but Barcelona doesn't want to pay such a fee for a former youth player since this would send a bad signal to the fans and the current youth players. The club therefore hopes that Cesc will put pressure on his club.
