Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Barcelona player Carles Puyol (30) is speeding up his recovery because Barcelona will have a lack of defenders for the next league game. The player feels good and could get the green light on Saturday. This would enable the Catalan defender to be available for Sunday's league game against Sporting.
Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo claims that, with the suspensions of Alves, Piqué and Márquez, Puyol will offer to play when he feels more or less ready.
Puyol suffered an injury in his left thigh during last week's cup game against Espanyol on 29 January and was then expected to be out for around ten days (read more here).
