British tabloid The People claims that Manchester United is preparing a 25 million euro° bid for Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes (27).Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson would be wanting to sign a long-term replacement for Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar and sees Valdes, whose current contract with Barcelona finishes in June 2010, as a top quality replacement.
Van der Sar agreed a one-year extension earlier this season and Valdes would challenge the Dutch goalkeeper next year before taking over the following season.
