Ronan Katzev, the agent of Liverpool wing attacker and Israel international Yossi Benayoun (29), has unconfirmedly said to journalists that Barcelona has asked for the player.Barcelona would have contacted Liverpool to hear how much Benayoun should cost but the asking price was not revealed by the agent.
The transfer value of Benayoun, who has a contract with English Premier League club Liverpool until 2012, would be around 8 million euro°. Barcelona would see Benayoun as an alternative if the transfer of Bayern attacker Ribéry can't go through. Atlético Madrid is also said to be interested in the Israeli player.
