Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Barcelona Juvenil A central defender and Spanish youth international Marc Muniesa (17) will start the pre-season with the first team.Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola would have been closely watching the Catalan defender for some time now and is convinced that Muniesa could soon become a full member of the first team.
Guardiola will call up Muniesa for the training camp in London from 21 to 26 July, during which Barcelona will play friendly games against Tottenham and Al-Ahly (read more here). Depending on his performances and evolution, there would even be a chance that the defender could stay with the first team for the whole season. Despite receiving numerous offers from European clubs, Muniesa would prefer to triump with Barcelona.
