Spanish football news blog Futbolitis claims that Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola has presented Barcelona sports director Txiki Begiristain a list of three centre forwards.

The list would include the names of Bayern Munich forward and Italian international Luca Toni (32), Juventus forward David Trezeguet (31) and Athletic Bilbao forward and Spanish international Fernando Llorente (23).

If Barcelona forward Eto'o would stay next season, Guardiola would like the club to sign one of the the mentioned player as back-up for the Cameroonian. While the first two would cost around 10-15 million euro°, Llorente has a buyout clause of 30 million euro°.

  6. sashi Said,

Llorente is the best of this worst! Eto's replacement shud be someone who can replace him in every aspect. not prehistoric strikers like Toni or Trezeguet.

  8. rory Said,

as back-up, i'm fine with any of them. they're all bigger strikers, which would be a nice option for squad depth. the key is that it is "as backup"

  9. Furymaker Said,

Well Toni and Trezeguet are good options for BACK-UP .They could be bus-brakers , if we have some game like vs chelsea they would be perfect even llorente , id rather see him then those 2 history players , i respect them but i preffer something younger .

  11. Anonymous Said,

is this a joke? luca toni? 32 years old? Trezeguet? 31? what da fuck?

  12. Anonymous Said,

i would also prefer llorente cause he is young, but he is also more expensive then the other two! so when llorente is too expenxive for barca (according to the report that barca only has 30-35m to spend + other transfer incomes) then trezeguet would be my choice and luca toni is simply not good enaugh!

Variety is the spice of life. different types of strikers are good.

  14. Bram Said,

Guys, you have to keep in mind that this is a back up player. Someone extra behind Eto'o, to get of the bench in difficult games and ad some strenght and lenght to the attack.

If Samuel would leave, we would of course get someone younger and with even better quality. I believe Pep want's this to be a new Larson. Toni and Trezeguet could do this, but I personally am a big fan of Llorente. He is young, Spanish and has everything to make it!

  15. Anonymous Said,

toni is called as ghost by the fellow ittalian media ..he has been critisized for his performance ...lolzz
why would we opt for him ...he is not even worth back up ...!!!

  16. Anurag Said,

llorente, he is young and good. toni=good for headers only. trezeguet=brilliant once upon a time. but they are not worthwhile options considering they would be very expensive.

i think barcelona need to get a player who can establish himself as an aerial threat too. is llorente good with headers? coz i feel the onyl really good player we have in our team for that is pique and maybe puyol.

  20. Iniestar Said,

It has to be Llorente...I have never liked Trezeguet and it's obvious Toni is past it.

However, because Toni and Pep played together at Brescia, I have the horrible feeling it may happen...

  21. LeónDragón Said,

more important than the heading-skills of a striker, are the inside-the-head-skills of a striker.
goals can be scored at many ways

  22. LeónDragón Said,

think bilbaos llorente is also not even half as good as villareals llorente. can't understand why he's an option, as i never saw something special by him

  24. sempre_barca Said,

This would be perfect, eto'o stays and we get big guy to play larsson role. Any of these three would be great

  25. Dan R Said,

Prove himself? he barely got his chances and when he did he was good!
he is a great super-sub, but spurs treated him awfully...

the manager changing and the arrival of Robbie Keane back hurt him a lot... and since i believe he is not a part of their plans for next season i bet we can get him for a cut price!

  26. Manolo Said,

Every three of them are to bad, pure shit.

Llorente is the best of them but cmon Toni and Trez..

Eto'o is worldclass and none of them are.

Villa or benzema is the only options.

Cost what it will we need a good striker.

  27. KluivertsBoots Said,

Let's get Jan Koller. I hear he's quite the bus breaker.

  28. GG Said,

How about that dude from China, tallest man on the planet, 2.35m! Could be a potential busbreaker.

  29. peter Said,

None of them will come. 100% sure.

  30. Bombastico Said,

toni is no barça material he wouldn't help us to be honest!!
his skills are pathetic and lacks of speed so it would only be a waste of money...
he would propably have the same problems like gudjohnsen..

trezeguet is more skillful than toni but lacks of speed but thats only because of his age..
i wouldn't mind to see in barcelona.

Llorente is far the best option but bilbao wants a high transfer fee also he is more the type of a player he wants to start ever time from the beginning.. i don't think that a signing of him is possible!

well i do not think that a new striker is needet in this team but if barcelona really tries to get one back-up so let it be one whom is able to fit in the barca system and who does not cost so much!

  33. rahul Said,

llorente is teh best option of all teh forwards including toni, forlan, aguero, dzeko, adebayor, villa any one of them. i dont think he wud ccost too much as we can negotiate n bring teh price down to something like 16-18m. he wud be a great addition as i have been saying it for ages. n i do believe he wud expect a bench role n who knows may takeover etoo in teh future along wit bojan.
    GET HIM BARCA!

  34. Aussie Barca Fan Said,

I don't see the point in buying an old DINASOR for 1 season and spending 10-15 million euros. What a joke. Toni would be lucky to be worth 1-5 let alone 10 or more. Trez needs to retire in the south of France. He should be taken out to pasture.

Yes they are tall target men but they wont help with the 'parking the bus' tactic because they are old and slow. Henry could do a much better job in the CF role. Buy Robinho for LW and forget about these old pensioners.
