Portuguese sports paper A Bola claims that Barcelona is still interested in Porto central defender and Portuguese international Bruno Alves (27).Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola would already have detected defensive shortcomings early in the pre-season and Bruno Alves is one of the options to strengthen the centre-back positions, certainly since the transfer of Shakhtar Donetsk central defender Chygrynskiy has become unlikely after his participation in the Champions League.
Barcelona could make a new move after the team returns from the US tour but the club would nevertheless still think that the transfer fee asked by Portuguese champions Porto is too much. Porto is on the other hand not at all considering to lower the buyout clause of 30 million euro°, since the club doesn't have any financial problems after the transfers of Lisandro, Lucho and Cissokho earlier this summer.

I just read that Inter are going to pay Real Madrid 4m euros for loaning Sneijder for a year? How do Madrid manage to get good money for a loan deal, while we get nothing, and even have to pay the wages?

he have to sell garbage, sorry, like gudjohnsen, hleb, caceres, etc, while they sell goods like huntelaar, sneijder, etc, for which they also paid more that they get at the end...that's all, nothing more.
if we would sell players like toure, pique or others like them (hope never happens), you would see, what we could get paid

Toure and Pique are first team players, unlike Huntelaar, Sneijder and others at Madrid who can't get first team spot so they sell them off. You call Hleb garbage, while Huntelaar and Sneijder are great? I doubt Sneijder and Huntelaar would be as good as Hleb was at Arsenal. Garbage is Javi Garcia who hasn't proven anything, and yet Madrid sold him for 7m euros to Benfica, we can't get anything for a far superior player in Gudjohnsen.

My first feeling is that perhaps Barca have a somewhat different approach when it comes to transfers than, for example, Real Madrid. It seems to me, although there of course are the mandatory exceptions that confirms the rule, that the tecnichal staff of Barcelona values the relationship with their colleagues (other clubs) more than others and therefor does not want to adventure these relationships by being cheap and difficult during negotiations. In return they hope to be treated in a similar way when they are interested in a player. Unfortunately the strategy seems to backfire from time to time causing disbelief amongst, mostly, the fans who think we are bad at negotiating. But for me it's pretty clear - it's either the Real way or the Barca way. And the choice is an easy one, beeing a Barca-fan...

Our so-called good relationship by selling players cheap doesn't seem to give us any benefits at all, because we pay 22m for a Ukrainian league player, we pay 70m for Zlatan, we pay 20m for Milito, 15m for Keirrison after Palmerias bought him for 0.3m 6 months earlier etc etc. How much were we pressured for Filipe? 18m?
Our so-called partners are damn difficult in negotiations, and so should definitely we be. We need some new negotiators because it is getting ridiculous.

sorry kluivertsboots, but mertesacker seems to be also no good option in my opinion, as i think, he's slow and not very agile or moveable, but without a doubt he's strong in the air and has a good balance.
would like to see a player like juan from as roma, but don't know how he's doing at the moment, but a player-type like him would be cool

Thats right Leon, juan would get on rull dece in our back four. Its pretty obvious that the common denominator in these CBs are good goalscoring records and aerial presence. Juan would fit that description but he is old, I would be surprised if we didnt bid for the giant argentine federico fazio.
