Italian sports paper Tuttosport claims that Barcelona and Juventus are considering a swap deal including Juventus forward David Trezeguet (30) and Barcelona forward and Cameroon international Samuel Eto'o (27) (read more here).Barcelona is insisting on the transfer of Trezeguet, who would be the absolute priority of Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola. Because Eto'o is worth more than the Frenchman, Juventus should have to add an extra fee of at least 10 million euro°.
Juventus has always made clear that they would be ready to let Trezeguet go if the striker expresses the wish to leave and if they receive a transfer fee of around 20 million euro° which would allow the Italians to buy a worthy substitute.
The latter problem would be immediately resolved if Eto'o moved to Italy. And Trezeguet, who is not sure of his place next season, would like the idea of teaming up again with his friend Thierry Henry.
Eto'o could be a better tactical solution for Juventus, who signed Brazilian striker Amauri this summer, but the salary demands of Eto'o seem to make the Italian club doubt.
Italian newspaper La Repubblica claims that a 15 million euro° bid for the French striker could be enough. Italian newspaper La Stampa claims that Juventus only wants to let Trezeguet go to Barcelona if the Italians get Eto'o in return.
