Some players who made their debut with Barcelona's first team yesterday, commented after the Tottenham game to Barcelona's official website.

Henrique
I was a bit nervous at the start, but I gained more confidence and I was able to calm down. There was some anxiety with my first few touches, but I will continue working.

The team has done well and we played the ball around well. For me it is easier to come out from the back with the ball. There is not a lot of difference to how Bayer Leverkusen played and I will work on my game.

Andreu Fontàs (picture)
The feeling is a good one. Playing in a stadium like that with a team like Barça... It was great. When you go out on to the pitch you forget about your nerves. We are happy with the way we played and it was a shame to concede a late goal, but a lot B team players appeared. It is great to play with so many good players.

José Manuel Rueda
It was a comfortable game. We all played 45 minutes each and I enjoyed that. It was a tough game, but we played well and we enjoyed playing in such a stadium and with the players we have.

  4. barca4life Said,

Pique did not look that good at the start of last season. It takes some time to adapt to a new team and a new situation which is why i wanted the Ibra deal done as soon as possible. The longer it takes to get Ibra into training the harder it will be to get him to adapt and know his team-mates

  5. lawrenzo loves barca Said,

Rumours has it that mourinho is happy about the ibra and eto'o switch, well the pundits say inter got the better deal but i beg to differ since imo ibra is a more complete player than our eto'o.Well all the same the guys put up a spirited performance and it was great to see esp,Gai

  6. Messa Said,

Uh, this was not actually Rueda's debut. If you remember, he played in the final match of the Liga 2007-2008 when we won 5-3, against Mallorca (or was it Murcia?) anyway he was subbed on along with B-teamer Fali (who we later sold). That was his debut, not this.

  8. Messa Said,

Well his headline says "First team debut". And then, like twenty players got their season debut last night. No argument.

  11. Xaviniesta Said,

agree with the comments on fontas, he stood out for me. the others were abit nervous starting out but he showed none of that from minute 1. but overall the canteranos were impressive. and yaya was excellent! also pedro, i thought he did great.
